World Osteoporosis Day
Task
For customer donna mobile, Osteoporosis Working Party, Switzerland, H+O planned and organised the World Osteoporosis Day for sufferers, interested parties and journalists. Part of the task was to find a suitable ambassador for osteoporosis, and we found her in the well-known columnist Marta Emmenegger. Of particular importance was the combination of information and discussion, although both pure communication of knowledge and appropriate discussion of this serious topic were equally important. The vital work by donna mobile was to be introduced to sufferers, interested parties and to the press, but it was also intended that the insidious nature of osteoporosis be brought into public awareness.
Implementation
The World Osteoporosis Day took place in the theatre in the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen in Zurich. Speakers from donna mobile and other organisations, interviews with Marta Emmenegger, patients and a doctor provided visitors with competent, detailed information. The event was partly carried out as a talk show. Selected persons received a free bone density measurement in a Dexa-Bus. Grazia Covre and her pupils provided the artistic highlight of the event with an impressively choreographed dance performance. Anyone who wanted further information on donna mobile and the neglected illness of osteoporosis had plenty of opportunity to find it at the numerous information stands. A tasting of calcium-rich specialities was a further highlight for the senses and brought the participants and journalists nearer to the importance of healthy, calcium-rich food in preventing osteoporosis.
