Forum at “Gesund”
Task
For the first time, “Gesund” took place simultaneously with
the Muba in Basle. This, the largest Swiss Health Fair, contains the
forum with lectures on various health topics. H+O was instructed by
customer vitaphone ag to present the new heart mobile telephone on the
forum and acquaint the lay public present and the press (Tele Basel)
with it. The heart mobile telephone is a mobile telephone which has an
in-built emergency button for contacting the 24-hour MediCenter around
the clock for medical advice. Thanks to the in-built GPS location, it is
possible for the emergency services to find a person without any problem
even if the caller is no longer in a position to give details of his
location. H+O was in overall charge of compiling the film script and in
its implementation. A well-known Basle personality was found for the
forum.
Implementation
The forum on the heart mobile telephone took place on the opening day of
“Gesund” and was presented by the well-known Basle author
and journalist Roger Thiriet. The communications person appointed by
vitaphone ag introduced the heart mobile telephone to the interested
public.
In a discussion with Roger Thiriet, Josef Zindel, media representative
from FC Basel, described the course of his heart attack. He elaborated
on the significance of the time factor, since the sooner the heart
attack patient receives medical care the greater the chance of survival,
and the more successfully the functional ability of the heart can be
retained.
A live demonstration showed how easy the heart mobile phone is to use.
Pressing the emergency button establishes contact with the 24-hour
MediCenter. After that, an ECG is sketched with the heart mobile
telephone and automatically transmitted to the 24-hour MediCenter for
evaluation. The medical specialists present there received the ECG date
and were thus able to investigate any possible irregularities and advise
the affected person.
At the end of the forum the public were invited to ask questions, and
much use was made of this opportunity.
